Notes
The first album off the Anthology project, Anthology 1 spans from the early Liverpool and Hamburg days to the middle of the Beatlemania.
The album starts off with the first new song for the project, "Free As A Bird". We then witness the earliest recordings by John, Paul and George, home recordings, Hamburg recordings with Tony Sheridan, the Decca Audition and the EMI Audition. Outtakes from the recording sessions of the first four albums, TV and radio appearances, live performances take over the rest of the album.
Anthology 1 marks some of the important moments contributed to the band's rising fame, such the failed Decca audition or the Royal Command Performance. Listeners follow the album to travel back and witness the Beatles took shape.
